Many homeowners don’t know it, but that old apartment that seems to be anchored in another era has just what the audiovisual industry is looking for: truth. Family homes, inherited houses, spaces that preserve their original aesthetics… are gold for cinema when it comes to recreate times with credibility.

That’s exactly what happened with one of the locations managed by Rep Locations, chosen for the filming of Mi querida señorita, the new Netflix original production.

Today, productions no longer want sets that “look” real. They want places that are. Spaces with history, with personality, with details that cannot be fabricated on a set. Because that’s where scenes gain strength, where the camera finds nuances and where the viewer really believes it.

My dear young lady: identity, transformation and the weight of space

Mi querida señorita returns with a new adaptation directed by Fernando G. Molina and written by Alana S. Portero, produced by Suma Content for Netflix and starring Elisabeth Martínez.

The story follows Adela Castro, a woman who has built her life on certainties that are beginning to crack. An unexpected discovery changes everything and opens an intimate process of revision, identity and transformation. The film deals sensitively with issues such as gender identity, intersexuality and personal search, without artifice or unnecessary emphasis.

Here, spaces are not just background: they are an active part of the story. Each house, each room, helps to place the viewer in a specific period and to reinforce the social context in which the protagonist moves. The real adds emotional weight to the story.

Filming began in February 2025 and took place in different locations in Spain, with special emphasis on Pamplona and Madrid.

My dear young lady: the Rep Localizaciones localization coming to our screens

At Rep Localizaciones we participated in the shooting of Mi querida señorita by providing one of the houses that are part of the film. A direct collaboration with the production team to find just what the script needed: a real space, with character and coherent with the period.

These types of projects are not only looking for aesthetics. They are looking for authenticity. Houses that preserve their original essence, materials that have not been replaced, details that cannot be replicated on a set. All this builds a credible environment and adds narrative value to each scene.

This very special location managed by Rep Locations and used in the shooting was:

70’s apartment – REF: P06388RL

This apartment stands out for preserving intact the essence of the traditional houses of the 70s. It is a large space, with original floors and furniture of the time that provide a great visual authenticity.

The living room and bedrooms maintain a classic décor, with pieces that reinforce the setting and help build a narrative consistent with the historical context.

One of the most characteristic elements of the house is its bathroom, which retains the original tiles from the seventies, providing a very valuable visual detail on screen.

This type of location is ideal for shoots that seek to recreate real period environments, where each element adds to the construction of the story.
